Regular Vacuuming and Cleaning
Regular brushing and vacuuming of the pool is essential. Manual vacuuming and brushing should be done at least weekly or depending on the plan. Dirt and debris consume chemicals and can stain the pool. Therefore, remove all leaves, debris and dirt as soon as possible with a good cleaning. For heavy leaf accumulation, a professional "Power Vac System" is a must

Pets and Your Pool
Centurion requests that pets be placed inside the home or otherwise secured on service days. We do our best to guarantee your pets safety while servicing your pool but we cannot be responsible for pets that escape during our service call. As well, we will not service your pool if "guarded" by a unfriendly dog left unrestrained. We ask for your understanding in this matter.
Service Days
If your service day falls on a holiday we will make every attempt to work it into another service day that same week, however we may not always be able to. As well, some weather conditions or vehicle or equipment circumstances beyond our control may also cause a missed service day periodically throughout the year.
Understand that we WILL service your pool weekly and that we work with you regarding your schedule.
Pool Owner Responsibilities
During summer months we need your filter system to run at least 8-hours each day of the week. All the chemicals in the world don't help stagnant water stay clear. Automatic water fill systems are your responsibility NOT Centurion Professional Home Tenders. If they malfunction your water bill is not the responsibility of Centurion Professional Home Tenders.
Remodeling and Refinishing
Quartz finishes contain natural and artificial quartz aggregates, cement and modifiers. The aggregate sizes are smaller than pebble finishes and produces a smoother texture. They are available in a variety of colors and textures and are most widely used.
Hurricanes What to Know
BEFORE A STORM
Never completely drain your pool. You do not need to lower the water level in the pool, but if you decide to, be sure to close your skimmer valve to prevent damage to the pump when the power is turned on.
Turn off all electrical power to the swimming pool pump, motor, lighting, chlorinators, etc.
If your filter pump is in an unsheltered area, you can have the motor removed and stored or wrap the motor with a waterproof membrane or plastic bag and tie it securely in place to prevent sand and driving water from entering the motor.
Remove all loose items from the pool area. It is not advisable to throw patio furniture or accessories into the pool. If it is necessary, however, remove them as soon as possible after the storm has passed. Heavy furniture may chip and damage the pool finish and the chemicals in the chemicals in the water will damage the pool furniture.
We will add extra chlorine to your pool to prevent contamination. The pool provides a handy source of water for washing and flushing if your house water supply fails.
If your pool area is screened, you may prevent costly damage to the frame structure by removing 1 or 2 panels of screen above the chair rail on each side to allow the wind to blow through. Don't remove the lower panels or panels overhead. You may also want to consider slipping the pins out of the door hinges and place the doors in a protected area.
AFTER A STORM
DO NOT EMPTY THE POOL! High ground water can cause structural damage to an empty pool. There is a very good chance that your pool will lift right out of the ground if you drain it after heavy rains or floods or when the water table is high.
Centurion will super-chlorinate the pool water. When the chlorine residual returns to normal, we will test the water for proper balance. Heavy rain upsets mineral balance needed for protection of your equipment and pool finish so don't be surprised if you find your pool floor to be black because copper had fallen out of the water. This sometimes requires an acid washing.
Let Centurion remove all debris from pool with a rake and a skimmer before restarting the system to prevent clogged lines. Some chemical feeders require special care before starting the pump motor. Check with your pool company.
Remove any wrapping around the pump motor. If the motor has been submerged, or is submerged, it should be removed by a professional for cleaning and drying. If the pump has remained dry, turn on the electricity.
Centurion will check to make sure the pool is operating normally and that the water is circulating in the pool. We will reset time clocks to show the correct time of day, and we will run the filter until the water is crystal clear and resumes normal pool operation.
